Hi,

When terminating a call to a PSTN number through a2billing.
Is their anyway or something special in the extension file I need to do to send the callerid and callers name?

I have read some messages and some say that it can be done and some that it depends on the terminator.

Please advice.
Marcias

You mean *sending* callerid through a PSTN line?
No, that is definitely not supported on the analog line. PSTN only supports *getting* the callerid, and that's something the telecom provider will set, not you.

Anyway, if possible, try to avoid analog lines. They have so many trouble with digital systems (like the soft PBX's).

Hi
Maybe I did not make my self clear.
When using a voip termination provider such as for example voipjet.

In the extension.conf file we have something that looks like

exten => 1X., 1, answer
exten => 1X., 2, wait, 2
exten => 1X., 3, Deadagi(A3billing.php|1)
exten => 1X., 4, wait, 2
exten => 1X., 5, hangup

Now when I call my phone number at home.. I don't get in the call display of my phone the extension or the callerid/name that I have in my sip.conf file

callerid= "Marcias " <1001>

Do we have a way to send that through ?

Marcias

Hello,

For that your VOIP provider Must allow that. Most provider does not allow that. you have to find provider with CLI support

actualy voipjet is allow that. but, mmartinez, please do not do this stupid things!!! because we need sometimes this functionality for more serious things. if you (and persons like you) will not stop do it, voipjet can close this hole and we all will be lost this opportunity. and we will say BIG THANK YOU for your stupid play.
THINK SMART! no one reason to do that for you. if you need that - it's very quick to release legally.

exten => s/1234567890,1,Goto(1001, 1)
...
exten => 1001,1,Set(CALLERID(num)=1001)
exten => 1001,2,Set(CALLERID(name)=Marcias)
exten => 1001,3,Goto(1X., 1)

where 1234567890 is your sellerphone number (for example)

also do not send stupid numbers like 123 through voipjet to your sellerphone.

hehehe - Anest is right in that you must pass the information according to how the carrier will accept it. There are standards and rules for these things that must be followed. Find out if they want "1" + the 10 digits, or just the 10 digits without the 1 prefix, and always send that way.
