Most interesting, i've never heard of it being done this way....well if it works for you :P

I think i'm still going with the tried and true OpenSER for myself =)

SER / OpenSER I think does post the most capability for the future. If you can get through the minefields and such. As far as what it takes to run SER ... next to nothing, cause it's not a B2BUA, just grabs info and passes it on to where it goes, and YES as Crsh stated, is much better at register capacities than Asterisk is.

VMtesting huh?

Hey question....I can see how using OpenSER/SER for registration/load balancing is a great thing for registration. My questions is, how do the ser platforms route the appropriate info to a2b for billing?

I am currently testing this functionality using the account codes for verification.....but this is just a preliminary idea.....as i delve deeper into this i may think of better ways to do it...

I've tried using account codes for authen but each time it still plays the "please enter your card....." What might I be doing wrong? I set the card # as the account number under the outbound trunk on a remote asterisk pbx.

Do we still need to use fromuser=??

Again, my stuff is just patchwork nothing is definitive.....in my setup some things "just work" and since it's still a test bed i really don't care if they "just work" at this phase in my setup i'm following a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality....when i go production i will have documented most of the steps and quirks hopefully.....sorry =(
