HI ALL,

I still have a problem with Billing currency.

I use A2B 1.3 outside the USA and obviously would like to use my own currency NOT USD.

I have changed the base currency settings under a2billing.conf. I also change the currency for each customer account I create.

But still billing is based on USD.

It seems that the developers have only thought of the US market...

any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Don't you think I have read the FM before I posted my question??

Please RTFpost.

I will repeat, again.

I have changed the base currency in a2billing.conf. I have also made sure that each and every customer I create is using my own currency.

After all that, when any customer loggs in, they can see their usage in NZD BUT multiplied by the exchange rate still.

Example: a call that's worth 1 NZD shows a value of 1.3 NZD, because of the exchange rate.............

if there is any thing else that needs changing, would be greatful if you help. If not please don't waste your time replying.

You've already described how you altered the base_currency, so how you come to this conclusion is a real mystery to me. To my knowledge none of the original developers are US-based.

The one thing you haven't described doing is: Goto BILLING -> Currency List and click the large "CLICK HERE TO UPDATE NOW" button

you can't just change the setting in a2billing.conf You also have to run the currency update script in the crontab directory to update the currency database.

after you run the script ... check the database and make sure NZD = 1.00 ... this is the only way you will be sure that your base currency is NZD

gue,

I looked under /etc/cronx directory and couldn't find any scripts that relate to a2billing currency.

But many thanks for the pointer, i will try to find the script and run that.

Cheers

Hi zalabia,

After changing everything to your currency (base currency, paypal, etc.) go in the admin interface, under billing. There, click on "Currency List" and click on the button that says "CLICK HERE TO UPDATE NOW". After update the currency list with the new base currency, everything will be just as you want it.

Another thing. For the cront services that come with a2billing, they are all located in the folder:
Code:
/var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/libs_a2billing/crontjob

There are 8 of them

- a2billing_alarm.php
- a2billing_autorefill.php
- a2billing_batch_process.php
- a2billing_bill_diduse.php
- a2billing_check_account.php
- a2billing_invoice_cront.php
- a2billing_subscription_fee.php
- currencies_update_yahoo.php

Enjoy

asiby,

Thanks a million. You have just solved both my problems.

I have updated my A2B1.3 and also solved the same problem on another system that runs the older version by running the script.

Many thanks

I have changed base currecy to CAD, everything seems to be defaulting ok, however when a user uses the signup page it defaults to USD. Is there a place to make that change it seems is only in the auto signup part that defaults to USD. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

My install of v1.3.2 doesn't. It has base_currency at the top of the list. I think this is also influenced by 'currency_choose' in a2billing.conf. It's not impossible that this a local modification which I forgot to push back upstream to Areski's tree. Any confirmation of this would be appreciated; if so I'll see if I can dig out the changeset.

I was struggling with this today too yet I knew I had followed the online guides (made up of a lot of scouting around). I think the coffee and the eyes propped open with matchsticks must have been haunting me though. It was a VAT issue. I was assuming the number entered to be a value to add to the card would appear on the card. Then I realised why. Was putting in 1 euro and getting 0.84... yup that would be our 19% VAT factor.

Sleep helps these things!

Let me just add a thank you to Starbilling for this A2B box of tricks. If you want it set up quickly, they can do the install for you. But if you struggle through and learn it, you'll do quite ok but these things take time.

Content for now, I'm off for some shut-eye.
