Hi calling card,

Sorry again but I have a problem. I was able to authenticate my sip client to a2billing but the problem is when I dial a number it ask me for the number of a sip/iax client. What I want to do is to let the client use the trunk in a2billing so that he/she can call out to pstn.

Please help.

Thank for all your help.

Oliver

Hi Calling Card,

Thanks for giving me a headstart. I was able to successfully configure it using xlite as sip client. But when I tried it using asterisk it is giving me a message that the number you have dialled is not yet in service. In my remote asterisk server I created a sip trunk with the following details.

host=192.168.14.196
username=9113804692
secret=3134783180
type=peer

is there something I need to change? Thanks again.

I understand that using host=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and insecure=port,invite, will allow ip-ipauthentication to work for any given accountcode. But, at the same time, if the customer wants to register from a softphone and make call, the registration will fail since
Peer 'abcdef' is trying to register, but not configured as host=dynamic

Any ideas how can we give a customer ability to use his account as wholesale (ip-ip only) and pc2phone (from a sip UA).

regards,
trappedvector

Just create two SIP peers for him. You can have more than one peer per account. (make sure the accountcode is the same)

Hello People,
I came here looking fora simillar issue...

IP based authentication it's working properly in my server, and I don't have any issue...

But the question now, that I wanted to interconnect reciprocally one of our actual providers to provide him wholesale... So, I have him as aa trunk already in sip.conf. So I create him a new customer account, and modified his sip friend configuration to accept calls based on ip authentication.

Testing, it seem to be that asterisk after reading the incoming call from that host, it's placing the call directly to the default context, befor passing to a2billing script.

I add to his trunk in sip.conf, to appoint him to our existing wholesale context.

The problem is, when he call, he's getting the calling Cards IVR, and not placing the call directly, meanwhile in this conext, associated to agi-config 4, as wholesale context, I have:
answer_call=no
use_dnid=no
number_try=1

But it's playing the IVR prompt...

What's failing here... it's working in direct access to agi-conf, but when there's an existing trunk in sip.conf for reciprocal traffic, it's not working...

Please, advice...

Wasn't able to make this work. If you are, please let us know.

Hi as a2billing ip based authentication users it's work without any problem, the mines it's when the user are in the same time provider, and have a trunk in sip.conf asterisk environment.

To enable the ip authentication, just go to customer - voip settings, open the sip frien user and:
Turn:
Qualify to no
Username to nothing... empty
secret to nothing-- empty
Type= peer
host= add_ the customer host.
context= appoint to your available context for this... up to you

Save and reload asterisk.. it's work without problem...

My problem, as I said, that one of our existing carriers wanted to buy from us, so it's reciprocal traffic, actually in sip.conf I have him just like:
[carriername]
type=peer
host=00.00.00.00

So, when he place the call, asterisk pickup the call, and appoint it immediatly into the default context, and not lancing the a2billung script.
I add context=voip-wholesale, but he's getting no voice, silence, and in my Cli I see the prompt asking him to select languaghe, and pin code...

This is my problem... indeed it's asterisk issue, not a2billing issue itself...

Regards,
