Hi,

I want to be able to specify each trunk with it's own codec. For example:

Trunk A uses ulaw
Trunk B uses g729

How can I do that? The reason I want to do this is because I have a scenario where provide A allows both ulaw and g729 but I want to use ulaw for the quality and trunk B only allows g729. What happens now that calls using TrunkA uses g729 by default even when the incoming call is connecting with ulaw.

One way I can achieve the above is by creating the exact trunkA in Asterisk/freepbx and only allow ulaw in the trunk configuration and then in the A2Billing use the trunk name created in Asterisk instead of the IP address of the provider.

But it would be nice to not use the Freepbx trunk name and use the IP address of the provider and somehow allow/disallow codecs for each individual trunk. I am not sure what can be used for the trunk parameters.

Please let me know if anyone has any good suggestions on how to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance

KK

That would be the accepted and recommended way of doing it.
