Hi there,

Good job with A2billing by the way. It really is an excellant toolset.

I am having a few problems with its setup against Freepbx however. I have installed Asterisk with Freepbx and calls route fine in and out. I then installed A2billing and created a trunk to link the two. That works fine to as when I make a call to my DID, it routes through to Freepbx, then connects to A2billing via and gives me the balance for the accountcode.

That however is when things go a little off-kilter....

It connects to A2billing, asks me to input the number that I want to dial

Then

"The number you have dialed is currently unavailable"

The log file shows the below error:

[2010-02-01 20:24:12] VERBOSE[19414] logger.c: -- <SIP/1000-b7701b70> Playing 'prepaid-enter-dest' (language 'en')

[2010-02-01 20:24:24] VERBOSE[19414] logger.c: -- Playing 'prepaid-dest-unreachable' (escape_digits=#) (sample_offset 0)

My rate card seems to be set up exactly as the guides say, but still no joy.

Any help would be very gratefully accepted :-)

Thanks

BVD

Hi

Check you have a rate that matches 07
Check your rate table is attached to the call plan
Check the customer is connected to the call plan.

Using the rate simulator can help with above.

You may also want to look at the use_dnid setting in the agi-conf.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for the tips. I have tried your suggestions as below:

Check you have a rate that matches 07 - There wasn't a rate specifically for 07. There was a 447 however, but it doesn't work even when I add the 44 prefix. I then created a rate called defaultrate, which the instructions say should pick up all numbers that don't have a rate defined. It still doesn't work however.

Check your rate table is attached to the call plan - I can confirm this

Check the customer is connected to the call plan - I can also confirm this

Using the rate simulator can help with above - When I input customer ID 1 in the rate simulator and try my 4477...... number or 077...... number, and hit simulate nothing appears (including no error message) does this mean that it is not finding a rate for these numbers in the rate table?

Thanks again for your help with this. A2billing seems like a very powerful tool once I manage to get over these teething problems.

Hi

Yes, if the simulator comes up blank, then no rate is being found for the destination.

A2Billing will not dial, unless it can find a rate.

Joe

PS Note the use of defaultprefix, not defaultrate, as you suggest in your post.

Quote:
B) Use 'defaultprefix' to setup a rate for all destinations where a specific rate is not provided.

Hi Joe,

Thanks again for your help so far. I'm sure that this issue must be something really simple that I'm just missing.

I have the below rate set up:

DESTINATION PREFIX BR SR START-DATE STOP-DATE INITB CC TRUNK FTC
united kingdom-mobile 447 0.241463 0.289756 2010-02-01 17:24:52 2020-02-01 17:24:52 0 0 TestOut No

but when I use the simulator to ring 44778....... I get no results

I have also set the defaultprefix rate as suggested, but still can't make calls (see below settings):

DESTINATION PREFIX BR SR START-DATE STOP-DATE INITB CC TRUNK FTC
uk-default defaultprefix 0.241463 0.341463 2010-02-02 01:26:53 2020-02-02 01:26:53 0 0 TestOut No

My setup is a pbx in a flash one, with calls routing in fine to my asterisk/freepbx, and out to A2billing fine, but just not out from A2billing to the destination.

Hi Joe,

I've now fixed that problem. For some reason the call plan had disapeared from my test user. It now rings through fine :-)

However :-( The call terminates after 1 second.

Is this some timeout problem or a known bug?

Thanks again for all of your help.

I have noticed all kinds of problems, ie: simulator not working, etc if there is an entry in this setting in the a2billing conf file:
; this will force to se3lect a specifi4c call plan by the Rate Engine
force_callplan_id =
after removing the callplan number and leaving it blank all my call plans work as well as the simulator.
Just a thought for something to check...
