Hi,

I have a least-cost-routing set-up, working well. My Callplan has ratecards for two different providers, and will correctly route the calls to the trunk of the cheapest provider.

My problem is that each provider requires different callerid settings. One provider requires their own 6-digit code as a callerid - which they then translate into the correct calling number. Another provider requires the actual calling number.

Is it possible to change outbound callerid depending on which trunk is used?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi,

So, no replies :( . Is that because the question is ridiculous, the question isn't understood, or nobody has an answer? :D

My different SIP providers need different callerid values when placing a call. My A2Billing least-cost-routing setup will send calls out to the cheapest provider, but there doesn't seem to be a mechanism where I can vary callerid information by SIP provider.

Has anyone got experience of using 'local' trunks? Would it be advisable to change my outbound trunks to 'local' trunks, have the LCR route the calls to the appropriate local trunks, where the callerid could then be changed with some Asterisk dialplan code, then forwarded on out to the appropriate SIP provider?

I haven't tried this yet - would I be wasting my time?

Any comments appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Mark
