Question: Does A2B age cdr's? Having tried another product a year ago, one of the issues was the accumulation of CDR's impacting performance.

Suggestion would be to consolidate CDR's after a given period, ie, keep the totals, but delete the details.

regards

Actually, that depends on the database used.

With a good db and the proper index, old records wouldn't affect the speed of search for the newer ones.

Agreed,

However, let's say I have 50m transactions a year, surely there's no need to keep that information after say 12 months. As the CDR's grow, so does the size of the indexs. There needs to be some method of constaining the size of the db at some point without losing the history.

regards

The A2B in trunk already has the ability to archive old cards and call records.

I was under the impression that in the UK we have to keep CDRs for 7 years.

Storing the old CDR's away is perfectly legal.
The only problem would be trying to review the data (eg. view per-month graphs) once you have put some data away.
