 Post subject: Input file does not appear to be valid archive pg_restore

Hi,

i was able to dump current database with the help of stavros.
but when i go to restore it in a new machine it shows following error

Input file does not appear to be valid archive

the commands are used for it


pg_restore -h localhost - U postgres -d a2billing pin-backup.gz

or first gunzip pin-backup.gz
than pg_restore -a -d a2billing pin-backup

actually i have to run this command which partially work
with error i mean its executing .

zcat pgsql-backup.gz | psql -h localhost -U postgres


can someone help
