 Post subject: How troubleshoot Poor sound quality

Hello,

It could be not the problem for a2billing might be with asterisk or within network
or voip termination provider. That is i am talking about SOUND quality.

When it connects the voice is choppy and volume is low.

For these reason how will i troubleshoot and what need to check and where i can improve or fix the thing ?
Thats my open question to all in this forum right now.

Can any one help me or guide me?

Hi

You can discount A2Billing, as that is just PHP and MySQL, and is not in the call path.

Therefore you have to deal with the other possibilities and eliminate them.

Network, using tools like mtr ping and traceroute to start, then moving onto more advanced tools like wireshark.

Echo testing against your platform, to check which leg of the call is causing problems.

and then checking the carrier, once you are satisfied that you have good quality on the remainder.
