Post subject:  Charge after the call is picked up

I was observing that cdr reports are registering in duration field the ring time plus the call time. And the terminate cause is always being recorded as "answer", even if the call is not picked up. I configured a2biling to athenticate my sip extensions created in elastix, making a custom trunk to call a2billing, it's working but I am having problems with reports.

Is there somthing that I should change in a2billing.conf to solve this problem ?

Things that already changed :
[agi-conf1]
answer_call = NO

------------------------------------------------
//I put M parameter
dialcommand_param = "|60|MHRrL(%timeout%:61000:30000)"

-----------------------------------------------------------------
I'am usingo analog lines.

I saw a post in another forum saying :
"The reason for this is that 99% of Alog PSTN lines do not provide answer supervision in their inital configured state. That is a signal or reversal of the line when the far end has answered, Combined with the fact that much of the Alog equipment also doesnt support it, Means it will show answered as soon as it goes off hook.

Is that true ?

The only way to get reliable billing is to use Digital links either BRI or PRI or use Voip trunks such as IAX or SIP. Using Alog lines for ANY commercial venture is not a good idea."

Maybe it's not just a change that I have to do in a2billing.conf, but if someone knows how to solve this, or have tips for me, thanks.

Hi

You statement is true, the analogue line sends an answer.

You can prove this to yourself by taking A2Billing out of the call process, and sending a call to your channel directly through asterisk, while watching the logs, and you will see that as soon as it hits the analogue card, the call shows answered.
