hi,

I try to setup a wholesale server. the problem is this:

if I use answer_call=yes - works, but the other party is being charged even though the call never gets answered.

if I use answer_call=no (as it should be) the system just hangs-up, it doesn't make the call.

any ideas ?

There was a recent thread reporting that another configuration directive needs a specific setting, but I can't remember what it was and I can't find the thread. I'm sure it was in the last 4 weeks if that helps you search.

Added after 42 minutes:

Ensure that 'use_dnid = YES', as if you aren't answering the call you can't prompt for a destination number.

I use use_dnid=yes.

if I change in a2billing.php the code where it says "if channel is down exit" and comment it, the sistem works, but again, the asterisk anwers the call even thought the called party didn;t answer.

and the answer=no.

I don;t know how to make asterisk not to open the channel until the called destination doesn't open it...

i'll try to search more in forum, maybe i'l find an answer

Asterisk doesn't answer calls all by itself. Either your configuration is making it do so or the provider is doing it. You can check if the Answer() application is not being used in your extensions.

Cheers

Check your contexts in asterisks carefully. I guess that incoming SIP is hitting a context which answers the call first.

Make sure that the agi script is hit first.
