Hello, I currently have a2billing version 1.2.3 running on mysql 4 and would like to upgrade to version 1.3.4 on a new hardware that has mysql 5. What will be the best approach to upgrade without changing the production server (v.1.2.3)? I was thinking of setting up version 1.3.4 on the new hardware and then just restore the data from version 1.2.3 server using the built-in a2billing database backup utility.. Is there any extra steps i need to do on the database side? Thanks Mohamed |

I'd be surprised if that works. A better method would be to restore the backup to a v1.2.3 database, and then upgrade that database to v1.3.4.
Of course, this assumes that the backup+restore options within A2B actually work; I've never used them, so you should reassure yourself they work properly. |

Thank you.. I think I will go your method of restoring version 1.23 and then upgrade to version 1.3.4. The restore utility in a2billing on version 1.2.3 works fine as I have used it before to restore data to a test environment.. Thanks Mohamed. |
