As my Ticket #83 suggests in TRAC, the following change is proposed:

Now, "initblock" is applied after the free minutes and zones.
That is, if you have 4 free minutes, call for 3min and have initblock=45sec, then, you will have one 3min call consuming 3 free minutes. Then, initblock will apply, meaning you will still pay for 45sec call.

Proposed change: apply 'initblock' before other calcs:
Eg. You have 4 free minutes, call for 2:28sec and initblock=3min. Then, call will be rounded to 3min and consume 3 free minutes. The call will still be free.

Moreover, if you are using advanced billing with chargea/chargeb etc. then initblock will behave quite differently.

Since the proposed patch changes the way calls are billed, I expect you to comment on it before it gets accepted.

Note that it will bill differently iff you have both initblock + freeminutes or zones.

I moved this topic on this new section DEVELOPMENT!
It will be easier with a section specially for a2billing development!

As we discussed, I agree that we move this change on trunk.
Hope that others will share their opinion here.

All the best,
/Areski

I'm all in favour of this patch.

I've commented before on how having initblock interact with the free minutes as it does currently is probably not what most folks will be expecting.
