I had started to add some code to a2billing for developing a reseller option. However after visiting the forum , I ve came to know that alot of work has already been started here. It would be my pleasure to contribute towards is development. So I will be available to contribute my part in the form of testing or development.
Secondly now I am trying to setup trunk after downloading from svn. When I try to access the index.php I get the error "Error : cannot load conf : load_conf_db"
Kindly guide me where i m wrong as when i try to access A2Biling_UI or A2BCustomer_UI , it works perfect. I hve already setup the mya2billing database and user under myslq with given permissions.

Kind regards,

Inb2g, thank you for replying. I have asterisk configuration files under /etc/asterisk and yes I copied a2billing.conf under /etc/asterisk/. My question is : Do I need to make any changes in the database as I have 1.3.3 running on the system?
Thanks

Yes, I thought you already have that taken care off. There is a folder within trunk called Database which include 1.4 schema, use that to upgrade your DB, it should work.

I can only hope that you are note running a production system on the same. If so, you must rename the database and be very careful because the script that add the a2billinguser account to mysql will delete every single a2billing related permissions before adding a new one. :?

After a detailed search and R& D, eventually I ve found a solution for obtaining a reseller module for asterisk.
I ve installed astbill (another open source system) untill I can wait for the release of a2billing 1.4 version (with reseller module).
If anyone has the same problem then use astbill. It requires bug fixing and needs some new columns into the database tables. If all you require is prepaid /post paid billing , static and real time accounts, reseller module; then you shuld be happy to use astbill. :) And wait for 1.4 version of a2billing to come.

I think that helps.
Thanks

Good luck with astbill, unless something has changed recently, I found it riddled with bugs and poorly supported.

A2B v1.4 doesn't have reseller support. It does have 'agent' support, which may suffice for your needs.

I'm hiring a couple of developers in the new year as we will have a real need for not really resellers, but more for master and sub accounts. However this could easily be resellers. While the work is for business related matters, it will be released to the community when it's done.

Clearly any work will be with the cooperation of those developing A2B to ensure it fits in with the development roadmap.

Regards

Hey, I am in the same situation and want to install another program for the commission agents but it requires FreeBSD. Has anyone done a migration of A2billing that they can share experience. The database is in MySQL for A2billing but the new platform requires PostgresSQL. Also need to migrate from Centos to FreeBSD.

The second question is if you use Astbill, does it replace A2billing or you're using just the commission agents portion?

Any help appreciated.
