I second that. Very good feature for this age and time where I like to have save on DID charges and simply go VoIP.

All the standard SIP/IAX softphones work with ASterisk and therefore A2Billing. There is even a web based version of Zoiper now. http://www.zoiper.com/

Good to know about the web based version of Zoiper but I guess the author of the wanted the softphone to be able to pull the balance of a2billing and dislpay. That's a neat feature and it will make the softphone look like Skype where you know what your balance is and also displays a cost VS duration per call.

I was thinking that this phone could be embedded in the user account pages, then you would have all that information on the existing screens.

I'm sure there are a number of companies that will supply a softphone with the modifications required, however, it may be as well to watch the extra load on the A2B database and network as 1000's of softphones query their balance at regular intervals.
