I'm new to A2B and I notice that the database struct has something that I think that is not very nice and I would like to some opnions about why ? bellow is a list of my concerns

a) why use float to storage currency values instead decimal ?
b) why that are so many ralations why diferents data type ?
c) why it doesn't use innodb to maintain relations rigth?
d) why it doesn't use same columns to make easy to see the relations between tables ?

Some one could comment that ?

Hi

A2Billing has been around for a number of years, and some design decisions could have been made differently with the benefit of hindsight. Additionally, one of the key strengths was the ability to upgrade from one of the early versions to the latest without loss of data, which may be more complicated with some of the changes that you suggest, having found ourselves in the position that we are in.

Hola Renato,

I m the author of A2Billing and I m the one to blam.
A2Billing have a long 5 years past and as this was the first big project I decided to build there is plenty of errors,
many important issues has been fixed and some that we consider less important are still remaining.

So to all of your 4 points, I would love to have help in order to fix them, if you feel up to the task it will be great, we will see then a better version of A2Billing in the near future.
a) and c) might be easy, the 2 others will take load of time though.

Personally I m putting some efforts now to start a new a2billing with a different framework and at this point I want also to rebuild the DB schema from scratch.

Yours,
/Areski
