Hi,

We are investigating the possibility of using a2b for a combined data/sms/voice pre- and post-paid platform. While the voice part is fine, for the SMS and Data we would need some way of externally triggering a payment event which would create a billing record, and decrement the customer balance.

SMS
===
We will be receiving CDR with the SMS details, which we would then need to process and insert into a2b via an external script. This should create a CDR/billing record in a2b, and decrease the balance on the account

SMS I think could be treated as a fixed rate call, and we create a rate card for SMSes, so it is just a matter of having some way of externally inserting the call transaction into a2b.

Data
====
Data usage will be billed on the basis of blocks of Mb, and again, we will be processing the information external to a2b and then need to be able to insert via an external script. This should also create a CDR/billing record and decrease the balance accordingly.

For the Data, it would probably be a variation on the Recurring subscription Service type of charge, except it is only triggered when needed.

Has anybody implemented arbitrary external charging such as the above, or is there an API call available in a2b for such purposes?

Thanks

-Barry
