I was wondering how much restriction there is in running a2billing from home behind a firewall using dynamic ip address.
For example using ssl, sending email if one has to, using the correct hostname or ipaddress in a2billing.conf file, working with paypal or moneybookers etc.
If this it is possible to run this from home that would be good but if not I will prepare myself to get dedicated server somewhere and install everything from scratch.
I like a2billing and tested it with some of my friends and all are asking me if where to sign up and I was just trying to figure out how to get sign up page working and others and yeah paypal business account one must have one right?

Hello nixmech

My test server is at home. That makes it more available. It's behind a firewall and using NAT. I have an always on connection, so my IP address is pretty much virtually static (connected with broadband on optic fiber). I am also using dynamic DNS (DynDNS.com) to point a domain name to my serveur. It works like a charm. I haven't used the online payment options yet, but I am confident that it will work.

I know I didn't indicate any surprise, I was wondering and by the way I really don't care if it is a business software.... but that is beside the point.

Asiby you are one lucky fellow to have fiber coming into your home, I wish I had. Thank you for your reply, I know I will find a work around the dynamic dns thing especially when it comes to the SSL issues. I am running this for friends and family so the 'business' aspect of it is only for testing payment part of it.

Any more information in this area will be useful.

Thanks.
