Did anybody else notice that voicetrading is charging for some calls even if they're not answered? we have thousands of calls which were never answered but voicetrading charged 127 seconds. This is getting ridiculous - they've overcharged us almost $1000 by now. Repeated support requests are being ignored (gee, big surprise there).

Is this happening to anyone else?

Is this happening on other Betamax clones like siptraffic, voippro, etc.?

Any suggestions of non-betamax carriers with comparable rates?

Hi
using myvoiptraffic, it worked fine. just use their premium route.
net2fon/idt has good rates.

Tried VoipPro to see if it'll make any difference, but it's even worse (way worse) with VoipPro.

Essentially what happens is our server sends INVITE to voicetrading (or voippro), VT responds with SIP Unauthorized, our server responds with an INVITE with the auth info. At this point VT is supposed to send back a SIP Session Progress or SIP Trying but instead they don't send anything. Our server tries to resubmit the INVITE 6 times until it gives up because VT doesn't send anything back. Meanwhile on the customer side they hear ringing or even answer - but it's one way audio so they can't talk, and they get disconnected when our server finishes retrying the INVITE 6 times. VT bills it as an answered call, but on our side we never received an answer so it's marked cancelled.

This is happening on all routes including premium so I don't think that's related. Something is seriously messed up on their side and they are ignoring the support requests. I guess until they lose all their customers they won't wake up.

If you have problems with calls which are connecting normally but don't have any audio on the line, this can be caused by the Symmetrical RTP settings on the VT server. If you do not want to use Symmetrical RTP, you need to choose the option 'Change RTP settings' and disable Symmetrical RTP.

if its fake ring, we open tickets, but even for us, we start charging our calling card users after 15 even if the call connected or not, reached an answering service or whatever... so yeah, it depends on the call. we still use VT to this day on their standard and premium route, even for wholesale termination. we NEVER touch grey routes cos... well theyre grey lol XD
