Hi All;

Why I will need php-pcntl and phpagi if I installed the following (are they the same?, really I do not know what are the difference):

php-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-mysql-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-common-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-imap-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-mbstring-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-cli-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-pear-1.6.2-2.fc8
php-pdo-5.2.6-2.fc8

Also, why I need GD library and jpgraph_lib? For what we use it?

Regards
Bilal

Just take our word for it that you will.

and phpagi
You don't need to install that yourself; it ships with A2B and gets installed as part of it.

If you're really interested in knowing the purposes of each of these libraries, Google for them; you can deduce what we use them for once you know what they do.
As with 'phpagi' above, 'jpgraph' ships with A2B so you don't need to find and install it yourself.

OK, so I need to be more accurate in my question.

I used yum install php and it installed php packages, but actually when I run rpm -qa | grep php, then it does not give me that php-pcntl is installed, also I used rpm -qa php-pcntl and it gave me:

package php-pcntl is not installed

So i ran yum install php-pcntl and it gives me the following:

[root@localhost etc]# yum install php-pcntl
Setting up Install Process
Parsing package install arguments
Requested dep: php-pcntl is provided by installed package
Nothing to do

As I understand that php-pcntl need to be downloaded and installed, as yum can not do it (really I do not know why yum can not do it)? Also, if I have to dowload it and install it, then how can I know which version will work fine with other versions of the php parts like:

[root@localhost /]# rpm -qa | grep php
php-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-mysql-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-common-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-imap-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-mbstring-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-cli-5.2.6-2.fc8
php-pear-1.6.2-2.fc8
php-pdo-5.2.6-2.fc8

Another issue: the GD library, in which name I have to search for it? For example, if I am going to run yum install package_name, what is the package_name that I have to write it so yum install can get it and install it? Or if I am going to google on it and find an rpm or tar file to install it, which name I have to search exactly, and what is the version that will be compatible with my php parts (this GD should be compatible with php or with what)?

Your kindly help is high appreciated.
Regards
Bilal

Your package manager is telling you that it thinks some package which is already installed on your system (probably PHP itself) is providing pcntl support for PHP. michofr showed how to check for pcntl support here.

LMGTFY.

These types of questions are best addressed to your Linux distribution's support forum; we support A2B only here, not Linux in general.
