I have seen few threads about the paypal security issues faced by some members. But there seems not to have a proper solution for that. And Paypal related frauds are the biggest risk and the hassle when operating this business.

But I believe paypal security can increased and minimize our losses by few ways.

1) Check the sign up email address vs paypal email address , if differ reject the payment .

2) After creating the account , for the 1st payment only allow the smallest amount defined in the system.

3) Not allowing more than one payment within 1st 24 hours or similar period.

I'm glad to see , when theses or similar features are added to A2Billing 1.4 stable.

I would love to see something like this too.
Maybe a "verified" account system, where they have a limited refill & payment option until they are verified by the system.
Paypal use a similar system over their customer.

We could also increase the security with a PIN delivered via callback or SMS also!

There is many option we could think about :)

if you are willing to support a development for this, contact me.

Cheers,

I don't know how to automate it, but the biggest fraud seems to come from US and Canada based paypal accounts. How I do it manually, is look at the IP that the transaction came from, and then do an IP lookup at http://www.maxmind.com/app/lookup then compare the country it pulls versus what is on the paypal account (they usually enter the paypal name info they plan to fraud in the A2B database too, so maybe even compare that). They even have a fraud detection section http://www.maxmind.com/app/ccv_overview that cost less than half penny per transaction where they can help tell us in advance. worth every penny, I'd imagine.
