Hi

I'd like to implement a test mode for the billing batch. A simple way to do this is to run the script and roll it back at the end - while keeping some results in files.

This requires the storage engine to be Innodb.

Any views as to why switching to Innodb would be a bad/good idea ?

This is an interesting question!
it might be good to look at some benchmarks,
I remember I did in the past and some was claiming ISAM faster in reading
but now I cant put an hand on those and most of the arguments seem to go in favor of InnoDB
