I am using 2way local VOIP lines from level3 provided to me by a reseller. When I go to place an outbound call to a number that is busy I hear a busy signal but a2billing logs this as a billable call instead of busy call or congestion.

What am I doing wrong? Is there anything I can change in the a2billiing or asterisk software that will let me recognized busy signals?

I have searched this forum and couldnt find anyone else with the same problem so I assume its something i am doing wrong

Actually I suspect your provider is doing something wrong. They report the call as answered, and even if they don't bill you, it's bad because you cannot really say from signaling if it was answered or not.

Actually it's quite easy to check. Go inside /tmp/a2billing.log and check what was the response for the call that had a busy tone. If the response was ANSWER, the providers is at fault.

I dont know much about linux so I will have one of my programmers that set my server up to take a look. I know in the Call table it was marked as answered and pretty sure if its marked there it would also be marked answered in that file.
