I have my dtmfmode set to RFC2833 in voip settings, have no issues with FreePBX and DTMF (voice mail works fine for example), but when I try to enter a PIN number into A2B it doesn't seem to receive the DTMF tones.

Version 1.9.3 is running fine, this is the only issue.

Does anyone have any tips on how to track this down?

Thank you.

Hi

If it's working for FreePBX, it will work for A2Billing, check the log for clues, not the Asterisk console, but the log.

Also, strongly advise an upgrade to A2Billing 2.X

Are there specific benefits to 2.x?

Hi

Joe - while I agree that in theory if it works for freepbx it will work for a2billing - I am experiencing the same issue and another related one on 3 installations. The common factor on those 3 is asterisk 10 although I am unsure if this is the cause. A2billing ranges from 1.9.4 to 2.0.6.

Issue 1 - identical to the post here, which is why I am replying here - I hear the voiceprompt but the pin is not accepted (no card number has been entered, even though it has. I have found a way around this by activating PIN sets in freepbx on the outbound route. Bizarrely, once freepbx has asked for a pin and accepted it, a2billing will detect the DTFM tones. I have no idea what makes it work this way, but it does.

Issue 2 on another server - a2billing is playing the file "please enter your complete pin number" - but no sound is heard and no pin is accepted. Low and behold, activate pins sets on freepbx, punch in the pin, and then send the call to a2billing and all is well - the voice prompt is heard and the pin accepted.

I'd love to find out what cause those issue?

Hi

it's not something I've experienced in any of my installs, so I suspect something has gone wrong somewhere with the install. Without looking at it in more detail, it's impossible to guess.

Hi Joe

It's not something I have seen either - I have quite a lot of installations running currently, all of them work great, except for the 3 on which I am using asterisk 10 which hints at that being the issue somehow. I just find it bizarre that sending it through a PIN request through freepbx first triggers something, somehow, that all of a sudden makes it work.

Cheers

Theo

I Have a similar problem where pin number is not being detected sometimes and at times it just has missing digits. My installation is FreePBX: 2.11, Asterisk: 11.8.1, A2Billing: 2.0.9

The problem is possibly with DTMF toneduration but I avent found out exactly how to fix that.

---------------
The basics
----------------

I installed FreePBX 2.11 with Asterisk 11 then installed A2Billing 2.0.9 and linked the systems. The calls are passing fine from the PBX to the billing engine. I have an inbound trunk which rings through and passed to a2billing where a pin number is requested.

When I call from my landline (fixed line) I get to the prompt to enter pin number and when I enter the number I am told my balance and the call progresses fine.

However when I call from a mobile I get to the prompt to enter pin number and when I do that I keep getting the message "invalid digits".

Again calling from mobile I get to the prompt to enter pin number and if I enter the pin number slowly, i.e. pausing
inbetween the digits it works; I am told my balance and the call progresses fine.

I have the inbound trunk configured with dtmfmode=rfc2833 as required by provider.

Below are some logs from a2billing where I have highlighted the PIN number which is ok in the first instance but in the second instance it has missing digits.
