Just want to show you guys how much the patent holder of the g729 codec charge for commercial
use. Me, I am the developer of the first Voip client for the Iphone which support Sip and Iax.
I was thinking about to implement the g729 codec to my app. It´s nice to have, but it tooks too much
batterie cause the CPU is working hard.
Here a mail from November 2008, just to give you an idea how much you have to spend as developer
to start with the g729 codec.

I mentioned that you will have two years to deplete your prepaid bank of G.729 licensed channels. If you should deplete your bank prior to the two years, then you can purchase a new bank of channels. If you do not deplete your bank within two years, the remaining channels in the bank will be expired.
I also promised to provide you an example of your scenario:

Total $12,000 USD
Year 2
Purchase an additional bank of 100 channels $5,000 USD
(There is no implementation fee in the 2nd year.)
