Case 1:
Server has pubblic IP address,
Client has pubblic IP address,

Case 2:
Server has pubblic IP address,
Client is behind router.

Case 3:
Server and Client both are behind router ( behind different routers)

Which case i will need a stun server ?

THX!

Hi

Whether NAT is an issue is an unholy combination of sip device, router and whether asterisk is behind NAT or not.

Using a STUN server is only one of the weapons in your armory for curing NAT but it is not the only answer.

Use it if you have one way audio or registration issues

My test server is behind a router right now . and the test clients is also behind a router (But they are not under the same router...they are at completely different locations)

I am getting one way audio right now.... But i don't know if its only because the server behind the router???(Case2) Cuz i will put the production server at IDC so it will have pubblic IP, if this is the reason, then it wont be the problem at the time of production....
But i am worry about its case 3......

Well case 3 is the most difficult to deal with. IAX is a better solution to work with.

However without a good understanding of SIP you are going to have a difficult problem to solve. Having Asterisk on a public IP is easier.

Check the registration details with sip show peer a2billing-acc-no. to check what IP addresses are reported.
