Slow a2billing.php start

Hello all

I am setting up a2billing 1.7.1 the calls take 30 seconds before any prompt from the system. Any ideas. The database is on another machine. The a2billing configuration points to the database.

pauses for 20 seconds while displaying

Centos 5.4
Intel Xeon 2.8 x2
2 gig memory
