Hi all,
Ive just downloaded the 1.9.2 tarball. Mainly to check for the latest install procedure, for centos(INSTALL.Centos), & there is no date or version on the doc (appart from the compression date of the file). The deb install doc has a date. Are the centos ones up to date in the tarball? Does anyone know?
Update: After looking at the trunk, you can see this today.
file INSTALL.Centos August 27, 2010 update Install.Centos [areski] file INSTALL.Debian 43 minutes ago prepare release v1.9.3 [areski]
Why are the most basic install docs not updated? For example, when checking out from SVN, the actual files go into a subdirectory called 'stable' (not that this is too complicated) no docs reflect this. In addition the SVN urls are different in both, ie one is clearly an old location. Who knows if the files in that location are the latest.
Why make it so difficult? I know you guys are extremly busy doing your real jobs, but even the 'one pager' instructions are way out it seems, especially for centos.
Sorry to whinge, but if you want people to try your platform, and become customers, it does seem to be difficult. cheers.
