Version 1.7 and Asterisk 1.4
Wondering if anyone has experienced this. During sign-up a user can register more than once using the same email address and other necessary info.

Yes, this is possible.

Joe,
Why the duplicate entry?
Do you believe that the systems integrity is compromised by this bug?

Hi

I can think of a number of examples where it is necessary to have the same email address against a number of clients. Additionally, I can think of a good many examples where the email field will be identical to a few thousand others - e.g. Null, where you are doing pre-paid calling cards, so I would not consider this a bug.

You can add a unique key to email table to prevent double signups.

But this also prevents you from pre-creating calling cards, and you have to make sure that none of the email fields are empty, or indeed duplicated.

A2B should not restrict creating multiple accounts with the same email. As Joe said, this is required in certain cases.

What can be done though, is to let clients provide answers to a pre-selected list of questions that they can use in the event they use the "forgotten password" feature. Then also allow them to send the password to their current email addresss if they entered correctly the old email address.

On another note, if two clients have the same email address, chances are their password will be different, so these are two separate login accounts.

Is there anyway I can put manual restriction on duplicated emails? Set email as unique in database, what consequence would it cause? I need a beautiful error message not a MYSQL error on screen.
