Hi,

a2billing update very frequently and i think it's getting better everyday but its hard to update from one version to another. So we need a better documentation on how to update a2billing from previous version.

Thanks

Updating is remarkably easy, when you understand the components - if you installed the system, you know how it all goes together.

I've written a post on this recently, but to recap:-

run the DB update scripts in order.
Update Webpages, cronjobs, common directory, and a2billing.php.

Job done. If your install used symlinks instead of moving files around, it is as easy as exploding the tarball over the old one, and running the MySQL update scripts supplied in order.

Joe is telling the truth. Max amount of time it takes (with mistakes included, forgotten passwords etc.) to upgrade system is 30 minutes. Thanks for the instructions Joe. THey helped me upgrade a VPS to 1.9.3... now to pump some calls...

FYI, here's the link where Joe describes updating: http://forum.asterisk2billing.org/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=8660

P.S - the update that I did was from 1.8.5 to 1.9.3. Mind you, I didn't do any changes at all to the system in terms of web interfaces, so in that case, your system should not break if you do the upgrade the way Joe suggests.
