Anyone,

Is there a way for a2billing to recognise variable card length?

For example, by default the card length is set to 10 digits - therefore you have customer with 10 digit card number. Now lets say that you want to increase this to 12 digits so that you have a lot more posibities. I know how to change this in a2billing.conf, the problem is that when i increase the number of digits the system no longer recognise 10 digit numbers because it is waiting for the additional two digits before it authenticates. If i change it back to 10 digits it doesn't recognise the twelve digit number because it only takes into consideration the first 10 and thus fails authetication.

Is there anyway to have the system accepting both length??

I don't think this is the answer you are looking for, but one thing you could do is to have the 10-digit and 12-digit cards using different contexts and thus point to different agi-conf's. That would fix your problem.

I am not sure of how to achieve what you are suggesting. At the moment i have two agi-conf's that is used depending on incoming DDI but how to set it up depending on card number is beyond me. Please explain your suggestion in details if you can....

Also if anyone else out there think there is a better way then please advice.

Cheers

Well, if you have both 10-digit card users and 12-digit card users coming in on the same phone number, then what I told you would not work. You would then need to get a hack. What I expressed was if you could differentiate the method on which they came in or some other means of knowing with context they should go in before going into the AGI. The methods I could think for that are if it's a SIP user you could have the context set, or if it is a unique phone number that it comes in on, or if you were looking at their caller-ID (in which case I doubt you'd need this anyhow cause then you'd probably just use the CID authentication).
