The same problem i have faced. Its so because Asterisk has blocked the SIGHUP signal and the child inherits this signal mask. This patch unblocks signals before exec'ing AGI scripts. U can found this patch in the link below:

Or its better to use upgraded version of Asterisk like asterisk-1.2.9
