Is there a way to use a2billing as just a billing software? No calling card billing and such? I want to set up a vonage like service and have users just enter a phone number and have the system dial it out and charge them. Can i do this?

4 things you have to do and they are all in the a2billing.conf file:

1. disable announcements
2. authenticate caller using callerID or Accountcode. If these are SIP/IAX friends you can setup callerid and accountcode in the respective SIP conf file. You also need to enter their callerid in their customer record
3. You can also limit the number of tries to 1 so that it behave like a regular phone instead of like calling card where if the call fails or disconnects at the other end it gives you the opportunity to place another calls without hanging up.
4. You should also set it to use DNID. This way the number you enter if you are a sip/iax friend is dialled

these 4 parameters are all in the a2billing.conf file and they are well defined as well. I just don't remember their exact names but they are easy to find as they are all in the AGI-conf section

you have to open the customer property page in a2billing Admin mode and enter the callerid.. this callerid should be the same as the one in th e SIP friend associated with this customer...
