I see a lot of discussion on this but no real solution
and nothing addressing a2billing 1.41 which should not need any workaround
to charge for inbound DIDs.

My incoming DID is defined to bill "the dialout rate" and the "selling rate" is 0.02.
The DID is assigned to a DID group, customer and VoIP destination.
Everything works, except the calls are not charged.
Any ideas?

The rate in the DID id for internal calls, e.g. what to charge someone who has called the DID from within the platform.

Currently, to charge for DID by the minute, you would have to pass the call through a trunk.

I understand that inbound DIDs designated as VoIP calls are not charged in a2billing but this should be easy to correct by areski if there is a desire to do so. I don't really see the reason why VoIP calls can not be charged if so indicated in the DID setup.

This is an area we are looking at, however, time and resources are at a premium, and we have to prioritise.

The plan would be add A Leg billing, however, the logic is not in place to add the A Leg to be the B Leg to come up with a total charge for a call, and that is non trivial to achieve that.

What would be interesting is to allow the A leg cost and charge to be either positive or negative to allow for revenue share numbers.

However, this is way down the priority list, unless someone is able to bump it up the priority list by sponsoring the development, which is how many new features make it into A2Billing.

I think we are talking about two different issues. I only want to change the code so that a2billing uses the rate defined in the DID setup to charge for DID usage when so indicated in the DID setup record. This is a simple change and got nothing to do with leg A or leg B. Your change is much more elaborate and thus not doable right now but my change only involves changing the logic in the code by maybe removing the if statement that tells a2billing not to charge for voip DID calls.

The figure in the DID setup is to amount to charge the caller - not the callee, for customers who call another DID which is on the system, instead of routing the call out to the carrier and hair-pinning it back.

I believe you are looking for a solution that charges the owner of the DID a charge for having that number called, not the caller.

Thus, I do not think the code is simple to change.

Yes. I want to bill the callee (the owner of the DID) for calls to the DID which is required to resell DIDs and perfectly in line with the new direction Areski indicated for a2billing starting with version 1.4.
