Hello:

I installed A2Billing_1.3.2 running with Asterisk-1.4.7 . my sip clients had no problem registering and making calls. suddenly, my sip clients were unable to register and make calls as if Asterisk doesn't see them anymore although it does parse the a2billing sip files

Parsing '/etc/asterisk/additional_a2billing_sip.conf': Found
Parsing '/etc/asterisk/additional_a2billing_sip.conf': Found

i am able to access and create sip frineds and modify them. It just asterisk seems not to notice them anymore.

i appreciate your answers

Hi

running commands at the asterisk CLI like sip show peers, and running sip debug may give you some clues as to what may be happening.

Hi:

sip show peers result:
63 sip peers [Monitored: 0 online, 58 offline Unmonitored: 5 online, 0 offline] where the 58 are sip clients i crerated. i am glad that asterisk know that sip clients exist.

i tried before the sip debug and there was no mention of any sip clients attempt or failed registration attempt.

thanks for the response

Hi

If you are not seeing lots of SP messages scrolling up the screen of clients trying to register, could it be that there is some firewalling going on stopping SIP?

What part of the world are you operating in, could your ISP be blocking SIP?

i am using linux fc5 and it could be a firewall issue. as far as the isp, all ports are open. i use the same isp to register my asterisk system and linksys with voip providers. the problem is when other sip clients try to register to my asterisk system.

Regards;
CHawki

Added after 41 minutes:

when i do sip show peers it shows all the peer client that are created by a2billing and these should register with asterisk, but they are not. and a peer that are created in a sip.conf file and are registered with a voip provider.

sip peers show

Name/username Host Dyn Nat ACL Port Status
xxxxxx/xxxxxxx (Unspecified) D N 0 UNKNOWN
xxxxxxx/xxxxxxx (Unspecified) D N 0 UNKNOWN
xxxxxxx/xxxxxxx (Unspecified) D N 0 UNKNOWN
. . . . . .
. . . . . .

xxxxxxx/xxxxxxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx N 5060 Unmonitored

the first clients are the a2billing sip client and the last one is a voip provider account

sip registry only shows the peer registered with the voip provider:

voip provider:5060 xxxxx 585 Registered Sat, 15 Nov 2008 18:12:55

hope this give a clue

regards
chawki

Hello:

it was not a2billing issue. it was a fc firewall problem. earlier i flushed the iptables, but it didn't solve the problem because i had to save the new iptables rule in /etc/sysconfig/iptables, otherwise i was back to the old iptables after reboot . once i had the new iptables rule i had no sip client registration problem. the question is what caused the iptables to abrubtly change. i suspect my two year old son. each time he sneeks around me and play with my server something weired happens.

regards;
