Dear all,

It has been another busy period since the last release of A2Billing nearly 2 months ago, and we have added a number of new features to A2Billing 1.7 codenamed Larch, released today. Some of these features were sponsored by our customers, and others we have added due to popular demand. Additionally, there are a number of bug fixes.

The new features are as follows:-

· New Speed Dial IVR feature
· Add Admin UI notification on New Signup
· New IVR locking system + IVR information
· Agent and Admin : new info CallerID, SpeedDial, SIP/IAX Config, DID Info
· SOAP enhancements.
· Customize the signup fields

We thank GongXianZhong, a customer of Star2Billing based in Japan, for sponsoring the development of the Speed Dial IVR feature.

We would like to issue a warning that we have had cause over the last few months to clear up some very broken A2Billing installations, and ones that were wide open to the internet, with no security whatsoever, installed by a person passing themselves off as an A2Billing consultant, resulting in the potential of the customer losing a substantial amount of money, both in consultancy fees and in minutes.

When choosing an A2Billing consultant, it is important to do the research to check the credentials of your proposed consultant and check such things as the numbers of posts he has made on the A2Billing forums, and whether he has successfully cured the problems asked of him. If the consultant has few if any posts, we would advise you to walk away.

We are happy other people to provide consultancy to install and train people of A2Billing however, Star2Billing, the commercial arm of A2Billing can provide a good a stable and secure installation for you together with training and consultancy thus leaving you to concentrate on sales rather than the technology. More details at http://www.star2billing.com/products

Finally, we look forward to speaking via video phone to The Atlanta Asterisk Users Group on Saturday April 17th at 09:45 Eastern Standard Time, I’m assured that anyone is welcome to attend, and can also participate via conference call and shared desktop. There are more details at http://atlaug.com/drupal/fest2010. We will be discussing in technical detail, the IP-Centrex and Multi-tenant system as described at http://www.star2billing.com/multi-tenant and how it interacts with A2Billing.

Yours,
/The A2Billing team.

Amazing. I think customization of signup has been long waited.

On version 1.7 how can one customize the signup page? Is that by tampering the php files or is it somewhere on the Admin UI?

Thanks,

I was hopping that the new release 1.7 will come with something new on Invoicing , as detaile invoice and export on csv or pdf detail invoice as in version 1.3 .
:furious:
Again as on other post s I don't know how can be use a2b on postpaid invoicing if you can not show to the customer detailed calles on each invoice.
I 'm I wrong?

We are working at our best effort to provide a solution that suits the community,
and by making the project opensource and our repository public, we also invite everybody to work with us and collaborate.

So please if you feel that something is missing, join your efforts and provide us with the necessary patches.
We will try our best to merge them into the trunk for future release.

Yours,
/Areski

Thank you areski for your good intention .
That detaile invoice and export in csv and pdf was take it out from version 1.3 and it is a lot of post asking and work around to get it back.
As I said, I do not find usefull a2b on postpaid production if you can not show to the customer the cdr for the invoice ask to pay.
I did understand that it is havy on CPU load for milions minutes but a leas to be option to use if you what to use it or not to use.

Hi, I'm Hironobu(DB engineer).

I updated database schemas for PostgreSQL:
http://www.interdb.jp/.a2b/pgsql.tgz
Please use it if it is interested.

Thank you.

Please proofread sentences of INSTALL file, because my English is inaccurate.

And, about 2 tables (cc_iax_buddies and cc_sip_buddies):
Should I exchange the positions of column deny and column permit ?
Now, I ignored 2 queries:
"ALTER TABLE cc_sip_buddies MODIFY COLUMN permit varchar(95) AFTER deny;"
"ALTER TABLE cc_iax_buddies MODIFY COLUMN permit varchar(95) AFTER deny;"
in UPDATE-a2billing-v1.6.2-to-v1.7.0.sql.

If I have to do 2 queries and if there is no problem, I want to change from a2billing-schema-v1.4.0.sql.

Regards,

The change we did for the order (cc_iax_buddies and cc_sip_buddies) is very important.
please apply this to postgresql when you can.

Could you use trac to communicate fixes and patches :
http://trac.asterisk2billing.org/

You can have a quick reading of this to make a patch for A2billing :
http://www.asterisk2billing.org/cgi-bin ... evelopment

Hi Hinorobu,

Thank you for your replay . I do use mysql on my a2billing.
That database schema it is applied only for PostgreSQL?
Do you have any for MYSQL too?
Have you a step by step how can aply the new schema on existing configuration?

Thanks,

Wonderful job. Thanks.

However, I found the database installation shell script still uses "a2billing-schema-v1.4.0.sql" other than "a2billing-schema-mysql-v1.7.0.sql
". I fell confused and don't know which schema the a2billing v1.7 really uses.

It's been so long since this functionality was asked for I can only assume that Post paid is not seen as the way forward. All of the effort seems to be on adding new bells and whistles on the pre-pay front. This is a real shame. We stopped upgrading at 1.4 and wrote external code to produce invoicing via the database. We also fixed bugs as and where we found them. Because of all the changes it wasn't possible to submit them as the current development was going in a pre-pay direction which I have limited interest in (95% of my users are post pay) and besides, from a credit control position, the functionality was somewhat limited.

We use A2B for our own use only, though I'm more than happy to share the A2B code we have. That said it's pretty useless without the C++ code we wrote which uses a commercial compiler (it's done (invoicing) on a windows server)

So really as was pointed out, if you want it, you'll have to write it youself I'm afraid.

regards
