Hi

I am using elastix 2.0, with a2billing version 1.9.3.

I searched the forums but could not find anything relevant to my problem.

I have setup Incoming DID (a2billing DID mode) , being forwarded to a PSTN number. The problem is it does not play balance, like when you call a calling card DID.

I set up the option "say_rateinitial" in agi-conf, which only plays the rate.

Any idea on how to play balance?

Thanks

Hi

I'm not sure why you would want to play the balance to any random stranger that happened to phone your DID.

Maybe I've misunderstood your question, please expand.

Hi Joe

Thanks for your reply.
In normal situation, you are right. However, this is the business model of my client. Let me explain.

Each customer living in US/Canada can get a specific package where he could choose a DID, which will be forwarded to a specific PSTN number of his homeland, i.e. anywhere in the World besides US/Canada. So, whenever the person calls that DID, it actually terminates in his homeland. So DID is 1-1 mapped with the customer and corresponding PSTN number.

I hope this makes things clear

Hi

You can achieve this in a number of ways.

The method is, bring the call in, set the number to call, then call A2Billing as per any calling card, authenticating on caller ID or PIN and pass it on to the destination.

This is going to take some custom dial plan work to achieve this.

Alternatively, you can do this with 10 DID, where each DID relates to one of the speed dial numbers. the call flow is:-

1. ID customer by caller ID
2. Look up the corresponding speed dial destination for that customer.
3. Send call into A2Billing as per any calling card, obviously with use_dnid = yes

I prefer the latter method.

Hi Joe

Thanks for the solution. The second method is indeed more preferable.

However, I am little confused over the point " Look up the corresponding speed dial destination for that customer."
I am not sure where to look for corresponding speed dial. Would not this be achieved by Speed Dial functionality automatically?

Thanks

Hi

Clearly a customer can dial in and press number 0 to 9 to call their speed dial, however, I understand you want it to be more automated than that,

So you have to create asterisk dial plan which looks up the customer from the caller ID, looks up the the appropriate speed dial to get the number to call, then sends this into A2Billing.

If you are familiar with SQL queries and Asterisk dial plans, you should be able to program this without difficulty.
