Hi Members,

We have deployed Asterisks and A2Billing. The calls are going through without any issues. But when I try to create rate plan, i get confused. I used to use Porta Billing, the configuration on A2billing is different. On Porta, we create a vendor tariff for termination cost and billing and customer tariff to charge end users. This is how Porta calculates the profit and actual cost of the call.
On A2billing when I create a rate plan it ask me to enter cost. How do I calculate buying rate, it depends entirely on the termination partner. Usually for every destination i keep 5 different vendor as a fail over. Kindly suggest what is the best practice to create a tariff for calling card. How buying rate should be configured?

I would appreciate if anyone on the forum can reply quickly.

Hi

You create a rate table for each carrier, which also includes your retail cost.

Thank you for your reply.

I would appreciate if you could help me with best pratice to set up calling card scenario. A step by step configuration would be highly appreciated. Here are some of the key points to consider.

1. SIP Trunk Call Origination (DIDs are mapped on this SIP trunk)
2. Customer billing (what parameters should be configured {best practices} like tariff, connection fee, hiden charges).
3. Trunk for call termination (Termination partners).

Please feel free to add items to this list if I miss something above.

Thanks, Haseeb

Confusing thing for me is, If I have a provider with 3-4 trunks for backup/fail-over so I have to put Rate Card for each trunk ...
Can I put rates for a single provider ?
