hi

I have a brand new installation with asterisk 11 and a2billing 2.0.7. For some reason I cannot get it to set a caller ID - even though it s set in the sip config. It simply doesn't appear anywhere in the sip headers. I am using asterisk Real Time. I saw another post here which, although I cannot make out exactly what the person's problem is, may be similar to mine?

A little more info - the log gives me:

[2014-01-09 21:44:19] VERBOSE[30809][C-00000012] res_agi.c: a2billing.php,1: file:Class.A2Billing.php - line:2519 - uniqueid:1389296655.31 - [AUTO SetCallerID]
[2014-01-09 21:44:19] VERBOSE[30809][C-00000012] res_agi.c: a2billing.php,1: file:Class.A2Billing.php - line:2528 - uniqueid:1389296655.31 - [Overwrite callerID security : 4063955122]
[2014-01-09 21:44:19] VERBOSE[30809][C-00000012] res_agi.c: a2billing.php,1: file:Class.A2Billing.php - line:2549 - uniqueid:1389296655.31 - [EXEC SetCallerID : unknown]

There are two issues with this - on my other boxes I do not get the "Overwrite callerID security entry. The value put there is the accountnumber in this case. However, I have clearly specified an actual caller ID and this is present in the database under sip buddies. The second issue I guess is EXEC Set CallerID: unknown?

Ok this is related to realtime somehow. When switching it off, it works fine. However, the fact that everything else works fine must surely mean that realtime is configured and working, or else it wouldn't have accepted the registration, make the call, etc.

Problem of course is that I need realtime so: have I stumbled onto a bug? something unique to this installation? I have installed it twice with the same result though. Or am I simply overlooking something here?

Having a nice conversation with myself currently :-)

Ok - so when I switched off realtime it worked. This also updated the additional_a2billing_sip.conf file of course. So now I switch back to realtime, and then manually change the caller ID value in the config file to something abitrary, do an amportal restart, and lo and behold, the value I just entered comes through. In other words, even though realtime is on, it pulls that value from the flat file.

More bizarre is that the other values, such as the username, are pulled from the database..... I tested that by creating a new user which is not reflected in the config file, but is in the database. I can connect with that user so it has to be taking that value from the database and then seemingly looks for a caller ID in config file when a call is made??
