Hi,

I tried to edit your po file in poedit and I cannot see the Russian text. All I see are the UTF-8 4-digit codes as plain text.

Do you have any idea how your file must be loaded in Poedit - or perhaps you can recommend an editor that loads that file correctly ?

Thanks

GeeJay

Anest,

sorry I do not understand what you guys did.

1. Has also the Russian language messages.po file been updated to the latest 1.3.0 release - merged with a pot file of the whole customer side directory ?

We took the file posted by Smolov above and merged it with pot file of the whole customer side directory - and are currently translating the missing bits into Russian.

I hope that we are not doing double work here ! Is there are better Russian po file on SVN than what Smolov did ?

2. What I do not understand is why it is not possible to use utf-8 encoded po files - it seems that all mo files must be encoded as html entities Ош&#1080

Why is this necessary ?

Also I do not understand where you put this stuff - and why it is necessary:

@ setlocale (LC_ALL, $ languageEncoding);
putenv("LANG=$slectedLanguage"); putenv (LANG = $ slectedLanguage ");
putenv("LANGUAGE=$slectedLanguage"); putenv ( "LANGUAGE = $ slectedLanguage");
$domain = 'messages'; $ domain = 'messages';
bindtextdomain($domain, "./lib/locale"); bindtextdomain ($ domain, ". / lib / locale");
textdomain($domain); textdomain ($ domain);
bind_textdomain_codeset($domain,$charEncoding); bind_textdomain_codeset ($ domain, $ charEncoding);
define('CHARSET', $charEncoding); define ( 'CHARSET', $ charEncoding);

Can you please elaborate whether you use utf-8 or html entities in po files ?

And if you use utf-8 - what needs to be changed in A2Billling to make them work ?

Thanks

GeeJay

Anest,

I have a customized A2Billing version ....

Ok I see you do now UTF-8.

SVN is already at 1.4 Version - is that stable ?

For a stable version I'd currently recommend running branches/1.3 from SVN. When v1.3.1 is tagged for release my recommendation will be to use that.

I'm not yet running any instances of trunk/v1.4 in production so I couldn't comment as to its stability. I will say I'd recommend waiting until there's a release of v1.4 before using it on a production server.

Anest,

your sparse comments forced me to diff all 1.3 SVN against our customized version. But thanks in any case for your hints.

- Russian utf-8 works now.

I see also that our translation work is not wasted since the current Russian translation seems to be incomplete.

Thanks

GeeJay

Looking at the the thread Anest previously linked, it seems that Braams (and therefore A2B's) translation was possibly based on Smolov's. I don't understand Russian though, so I can't be sure.

Geejay, would you please submit the completed translation once you are done filling in the missing strings?

Thanks.

Yes, we will share the Russian translation.

Is there any way how one can have two different client interfaces on the same machine on different directories AND with different conf file ?

I would like to have for testing all menues activated on the client side in the conf file so we can check whether the translation is correct - but at the same time I want to have a production system running on the same server, which is not showing all possible menu entries.

Is that possible ?

Thanks

GeeJay

Yes, it should be: install your testing version of a2b into some other dir. Then, edit its Class.A2Billng.php to make it use an alternate config:
Code:
define('AST_CONFIG_DIR', '/etc/asterisk/');

into
Code:
define('AST_CONFIG_DIR', '/usr/local/etc/asterisk/');

say..
Then, at the second config you may have anything..

That's a good suggestion there from Xrg.

Personally I use Linux-VServer to prevent any 'cross contamination' between testing and production platforms, but that's a whole lot more work than a simple one-line modification.
