I tried but it doesn't let me proceed without putting in a US State and no Country field :)

Well well. That's funny. Thatt's a "manque à ganger" for them. While some a trying globalization, others a doing the opposite.

In that case, don't even bother. It's probably the sort of company started by a bunch of geek who avoid human contact at all cost. In case of problem, they will probably never reply to your messages. They will fix the problem and hope that you will settle down. I have dealt with a few providers like that. VoiceTrading is one of them. It was just a one way communication. Ex. It's time to top up your account, rate changes, ...

Anyway, be careful out there.

Thanks.

Do you recommend another provider that provides good quality service and support, with reasonable rates?

MCI is one of the bests. But you will need to purchase at least 5000 a month or they will not even consider doing business without.

I know, i approached them and I got the same results. It is pretty scarry to commit to such a high monthly amount. I been trying to build my volumes up using other providers before I can move to MCI, but with bad and inconsistent quality with these small players it is difficult, you get few customers in and some stop using the service due to inconsistent quality.

zalabia you're right, when you're small it's hard to get good quality routes and then move up with customer and minute numbers!
For USA calls i use voipjet (iax) - good quality and easy to work with.

I have an idea, it might be a good idea to start some sort of semi joint venture with whoever you trust in business. You will put some money together and buy a lot from MCI. All of you will use it. Now, depending on who uses more or uses less, ou may have to add more cash or you may get you cash back if you don't use it at all. It's like a cooperative for small VoIP businesses. :D

This way, we can even buy for several 10k and probably get a bargain for termination rates.

It's just an idea

That sounds like a good idea. The logistics need to be worked out but it sounds good.

Yep. And the central entity must but a separate business. That will protect everyone (to a certain extent). And that business will be buying form MCI and redistributing to the member with no added profit. I have been thinking about it for a while now.

Well....maybe we can work out something.

Do you use pure Asterisk or Trixbox? Do you have server failover setup (Pair of servers) or just a single server.
