the customer ui file for french is now ready - it has been manually translated - using TM from poedit yields to some funky results.....

I will email it straight away to Areski - I cant seem to be able to attach it to this message,

Jean

In an effort to translate the invoice, I ended up translating the PO file for the ADMIN UI.

The repository file contained ### for each & single translation - I removed them all. I've actually used POEDIT automated translation, then checked line by line if it was correct - when it wasnt, I plainly copied the engligh translation.

1425 messages are translated, 820 are not - they remain in english (and no longer appear as ###)

Anyone willing to finish the job is welcome - though IMHO, ze A2B administrator should speak sme english... or he'll feel alone !!!

Jean

Hi

The French translation for the admin UI wasn't complete and there wasn't any translation for the Agent UI so I did it both

but when I do

# msgfmt messages.po
# locale-gen fr_FR
# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

The french translation still doesn't work for Agent UI and it work for the Admin UI

Is there anybody who can help me ?

Any help or guidance would be appreciate

Thanks

hi,

the way I translate the messages:

- edit the po file
- msgfmt messages.po -o messages.mo
- cp messages.mo <install dir of the ui>
this is usually /var/www/html/a2billing/common/admin_ui_locale/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/ but it may vary depending on your installation - also, if you have linked the files and not copied, it should be where the files are stored
- then restart apache

bonne chance,

j.

Hi

I don't have any problem with the Admin UI. The french translation is working fine.
My problem is with the Agent UI french translation.
My message.po file is in the directory /var/www/a2billing/common/agent_ui_locale/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/

I did

# msgfmt messages.po
# locale-gen fr_FR
# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

and it still not working ! I tried

# msgfmt messages.po -o messages.mo

but it still not working !
There is a very weird thing the french translation message.po file from the Customer UI is working when I put it in the directory /a2billing/common/agent_ui_locale/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/
the message.po file and I do

# msgfmt messages.po
# locale-gen fr_FR
# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

But the problem is that there is a lot of thing with no translation

it is the .mo that should be in this dir - the po is a "source" file that can be located anywhere

hence the call from joe to help translating... it took me 4hrs to translate the agent, a quite less for the admin using poedit (http://www.poedit.net/) and fuzzy translations, fixing them afterwards

I get it ! It's just that I use to put each po file in the same dir that his mo file in order to make the command msgfmt...

Forget about that part. The mo file for Custumer UI used to translate some part of the Agent UI but I have made an update and it's working anymore.

Hi,

I made a mistake I didn't want to say it works because it still doesn't work !

I made the installation on another server (with all the file from the svn repository) and we still have the same problem on the Agent UI we don't have everything translate in french !

When I take a look on message.po from the Agent UI I got everything translate in french but there is a lot sentence which are still displayed in english even if they are translate in the message.po

Any help or guidance would be appreciate

Thanks

Hi!

I already made the spanish translation for the customer UI.

I would like to make the same for the "Agents" UI.

Please, remind me what file should I edit?

Thanks

Areski, Have you got any hands on Right-to-Left translation? I am ready to translate Persian/Farsi, but the difficulty is having a2billing UI flip right to left.

Any thoughts you might have already had?

Thanks,
Ali.

EDIT: CSS needs also a lot of work for this WHOLE "FLIPPING" to take place...

Hi All,

We need some help on translating the A2Billing project.
We are at the verge of releasing a new stable version for A2Billing and with your help we would like to offer a better internationalization for our opensource software.

According to the languages you can work on, please download the PO file from our repository :
http://www.asterisk2billing.org/cgi-bin ... _ui_locale

Once you have updated and completed the PO file,
test the file by trying to generate the MO file :
> msgfmt messages.po
this will generate a mo file.

Then you can simply resend it to us in order to be included in the sources.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Cheers,
/Areski

The best will be to open a ticket on Trac : trac.asterisk2billing.org
Include the files so that we can include them into A2Billing on the next release.

If you want to do it yourself, you need to update this file common/lib/languageSettings.php
accordingly to your language and then update the template to enable the languages option.

Yours,
/Areski

Thank you for your helps,
And I have updated this file /common/lib/languageSettings.php as following :
Code:
case "vietnamse": // provided by LTA
                        $languageEncoding = "vi_VN.UTF8";
         $slectedLanguage = "vi_VN";
         $charEncoding = "UTF8";
         break;

I have created a directory "vi_VN/LC_MESSAGES" in path /var/www/html/a2billing/common/cust_ui_locale/ but when I go to link : http://myIPadress/a2billing/customer/ , in this Drop_list to select "Language", it doesn't appears my language Vietnamese. Next, I have tried to select a language as French, Spanish but customer's UI didn't change. ( It changed only with Brazilian, German, Russian, Turkish, ). Is this the bug for language in Customer's UI ?
Could you help me more details ?

Thank in advance for all helps,
T.Q.Tuan
