 Post subject: New customer account blocked

I need some hints what could be causing this to happen.

This is what I did:

1.I fill in signup form
2.Cick on the link in email confirmation to activate account
3. Receive login info in email
3. login on customer login page , get blocked account message
4.On checking the customer info in the admin interface, the status was NEW. Changed it to Active.
5. Still get the blocked account message
6.Added a balance on account through adming interface . Balance does not show.

I am testing the system.

Answering my own post.
The signup confirmation template showed info from the account number variable instead of the login variable.
correct values to put in the signup confirmation are $login$ and $password$ .
I was using the account number instead of username to logon.

i have same problem it change to new but then user can not login. (its my test system so its me as user :D )

Hi

Check you are using either the email address or cardalias to log in, and the webui password, and that the account is set to active.

thanks for reply, but that is not the case, if i understand you correctly then:
after clicking on activation link account status changes from waiting to new.
and on welcome screen there is card number and card alias and password
i tried combination
email and password, card alias and password, cardnumber and password.
i checked user credentials as admin and i can see card alias and password same as it is in email and on activation screen. am i missing something? its very very new system with very few custom settings in it.
